WHO WE ARE

Meaning Unity in Swahili, Umoja Abq is an organization driven by a single passion; to improve refugee women's lives. We believe that every refugee deserves respect and support whether they have just arrived in the U.S or have been here for 10 years.

PROJECTS

What we're currently working on

ESL and Literacy Classes

We offer multiple levels of ESL and literacy classes in partnership with volunteers.

DRIVERS EDUCATION

We're currently partnering with St. Timothy's Church and community volunteers to provide refugee women with classroom instruction for the written test taken at the MVD, as well as assistance with  navigating the MVD system to obtain their drivers license.

WOMEN'S HEALTH CLASS

Partnering with St. Timothy's Church, we hold classes twice a month about women's health and family wellness. We have brought speakers in from Black Health NM and UNM Health
