Our second session of in-person ESL and DRIVE classes for 2023 will run from April 1 through May 27, Saturday mornings from 9:00 - 12:00. The Drivers Manual Course will provide instruction to speakers of Kinyarwanda, French, Spanish, Swahili, Arabic, Dari, and Pashto. Our ESL class will continue with lots of action, conversation, spelling and writing, and work with dictionaries and pictures. We had several speaking events in April to spread awareness of the work that Umoja Abq is doing in the community, including two events at Rio Rancho High School and Sandia Prep. Umoja Abq hopes that all who celebrate Ramadan had a peaceful and happy Ramadan this past month. Look forward to more updates about Umoja’s growth as we begin the process of moving into an office space in the summer! We are hoping to provide 100 dictionaries to our clients for use in our pre-literacy and English language classes. The dictionaries, $30 each, we selected has an excellent section on technology and images along with definitions. Donate
